Oh Happy Day!

Couple of items I need to cover in my post today.

1)   March is the end of my 3 month resolutions. How did I do? Well, with drinking more water I did 75% of the time. Keeping house picked up...45%. Eating breakfast every morning...20%. Not off to a great start. The next three months I've decided to change things up a bit though. I'll still drink mostly water but add a Dr. Pepper here and there for special occasions! But I've decided to do a resolution "trait" instead of "things". For April, May, and June, I'm deciding whether to go with "Productive" or "Content". I realize that I should daily work on both in general but for these three months I want to specifically work on a certain trait. I think I'm going to hone in on being "Productive".
I really do struggle with being lazy. It's just so easy just to sit on the couch and watch TV while Jack takes a nap and put housework off until it's out of control and I then HAVE to get it done. If I took the time to get it done, then it probably wouldn't be such a hassle to do during the day. And it's really hard for when I've been in a slump for several days to get out of it. I do have to say that when I do get in the zone, you better watch out haha. I get into crazy cleaning lady mode. (Brad can verify that)

2) BRAD IS MOVING CLOSER HOME! Hip Hip Hooray!!! He accepted a job with Parnell Consultants whose home office is out of Booneville, AR. They are sending him to a job in Enid, OK. About 4 hrs from Greenwood I do believe. So that means he will be home almost every weekend..or more! It is definitely and answer to our prayers! He has been trying to get a job with Parnell for the past 5 years. The reason they are so hard to get on with is because they usually don't hire people. Because people who work for them are there for 10+ years. So there is lots of celebrating going on around here!
And it was also nice that I didn't have to fly up to WV!

3) Julia Heffington will be moving in with us! Which works out great for everybody. She will be only 20 min from school and she gets to stay in the upstairs part of our house. She has it all to herself cause I rarely go up there anyways. And I am hiring her to babysit/clean house during the week. Which helps me out a ton and makes my days less stressful!

That's whats going on in our neck of the woods!

Here's a photo to brighten your day!

A Little Bundle

I signed Jack up for a monthly subscription to A Little Bundle. You pick what subscription you want, monthly, 3 months, or 6 months. Then you do a little questionnaire about how old your baby is, what gender, ect.. and then every month they send you a box of wonderful items. This was Jack's first box to get and I am happily impressed with what they sent.

1) A "mama bear" tote
2)  A bar of 100% Pure Vegetable Soap from France that smells absolutely divine!
3) "Love You" night light
4) Dinosaur doll

They also send with each box a card and ask that the Mamas write a letter to their little love and keep all the letters until they are old enough to read them.

I had a different company before that I was getting monthly boxes for Jack, but when I heard about this company I wanted to try it out instead of the other one. It looked like better quality products.

They are and I'm so happy I switched!

I've got the Desire but no Energy

Lately I've been wanting to cook more. It's just not easy with the little man requiring all my attention. And not just any cooking, cause I know there are crockpot meals and freezer meals I can do super easily. I want to cook food that requires learning new skills and preparation. But here's the problem....

1) It's no fun cooking and making a mess for one person.
2) As I said earlier, it's hard to do complex dishes with my little one taking up a bunch of my time.
3) I want to already have the skills to do the recipes without having to learn them lol...I'm not the best cook.

I have all these great cookbooks to try out the recipes in. So I think I'm gonna have to make a plan, once a week or so go to someone's house and cook while they babysit. Good exchange right? I just hope they don't mind overcooked or burnt food sometimes haha.

5 months!

My little man is 5 months old! I can't believe it! Time is just whizzing by with him! Here are some tidbits about him for this month....

1) He is a lot more interested in what I am eating so I think he will be definitely ready for baby food next month.
2) He is working on sitting up. He hasn't quite mastered it and most of the time it's his belly that is holding him up.
3) My new nickname for him is "moley" cause he will put his head down and scoot across whatever surface he is on with his back legs as if he is about to dig into the ground.

But as always, he is a very happy and jolly little fellow. He lights up my day!
